Very good hotel, big and clean rooms, comfortable terrace, friendly staff. I'll hope return to this hotel again.
Very comfortable place to stay and Keith, Shane and Alex were very acomodating and approachable and did everytthing possible to look after me during my stay. Would definitely go back!
Very clean room with ocean view. Swimming pool cleaned every day, Friendly and courteous owners.
We had booked the suite and it was a very big room and clean. The patio was facing the water which gave it a beautiful view. The room was being cleaned everyday. We were close to the beach, walking about 5 minutes..our beach (Victory Beach) was very nice much nicer than Serendipity Beach where the chairs are all jamed together. The hotel does not have a restaurant but there are many many restaurants along the small street with good food and very cheap. The bus station is very close, only 12 minute walk but the tuktuk tells you that it's very far and wanted $9.00 USD but we bargained for $4.00 USD. The money used in Cambodia is in USD..even at the ATM you will withdraw only USD. They will give you their money for small change as they do not have coins there. The casino hotel is close as well. After reading one of the reviews (bad) I was quite worried about registration. So I sent them an email the day before arriving telling them that we would not be there till 9:00 p.m. The manager replied immediately that they would be waiting for us and they were. They do not have a desk registration..it's a bar, the owner welcomed us with a free drink of our choice which was nice and appreciated. They were very friendly and accommodating.
We were very disappointed with the pool..it's not a bad pool eventhough it's small but the chairs need cleaning, the bathroom at the pool is not operational, the water is turned off, not convenient. No towels are supplied for the pool so you have to bring your room towels..very inconvenient..Nobody used the pool.We feel like we paid too much for our hotel and that did not include breakfast. We booked that hotel because of the pool...I Would now book something much less expensive and opt for the beach instead.
Room had smell of cigarette and cigarette burn on drapes. Location far from beach and shopping , restaurants
Golden Rooster hotel is in the Victory Hill area adjacent to Victory Beach. It is a good value for money hotel located walking distance from the quiet yet well-serviced Victory Beach away from the crowded Ochheuteal Beach and the expensive Sokha Beach resorts. The Golden Rooster hotel is surrounded by inexpensive restaurants and bars so food and drinks are available from early morning til late. There is plenty of night life for those who don't go to bed early and like to stay up late.
Quite friendly staff who welcomed us at arrival.
We were first given a spacious room with balcony at second floor which looked really nice. After starting up the air-con and let it run for a while, a smell of mold spread all over the room. A big stain in the ceiling looked like it has come from some water damage earlier, and we figured that's probably the reason of the smell. We complained, and were offered another room in first floor without any balcony, for the same price. We decided to go with that, thinking that it would be ok. Only to find a used t-shirt, towel and shampoo bottle in the bathroom, which obviously hadn't been cleaned. The window was broken, and we had to use some kind of a stick to lock it. The room didn't have a safety deposit box, but there was one at the bar. The room was quite expensive, but we were probably charged extra since it was during Khmer New Year.
The hotel with its unique atmosphere which is created at design, music that sounds in the evenings, the proximity of the beach. The hotel is a five minute walk from Victory beach. Located on the street with a lot of simple cafes that are all very good and tasty. Unlike other beaches of Sihanoukville quiet place and is not boring at the same time. Rooms are large and comfortable. Beautiful ocean view
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Room was not clean, mouldy and the hotel itself was very unkept.
They had a pool, but I didn't use it. Nice owner and staff.
The beach is a 7-10 min walk from the hotel, and not 2 min as advertised. Didn't mind the walk though.
